Couple months ago I got invited to a special event called “NORWEGIAN SEAFOOD EXTRAVAGANZA”. It took place at Fairmont Hotel Jakarta and surely was one of the biggest events this year as a collaboration between INBC, Royal Norwegian Embassy, Norwegian Seafood Council and Innovation Norway.
This is a yearly event and they present the freshest seafood all the way from Norway! Also, Norwegian chef is coming as well to serve us his best creation 🙂
The event starts at 19.00 pm with an opening speech from NBC, Royal Norwegian Embassy, Norwegian Seafood Council and Innovation Norway. Then, followed by the seafood buffet.
By the way, this is a yearly event and it cost around 2.8 million/person or if you book a whole table (1 table for 10 persons) the price will be 25 million/table. Sounds expensive? But it’s worth it!
The food stalls were divided into two sections. First one is the buffet alley and the second one is stands of cooked fishes. And it was like fish heaven especially the salmons. There were many types of salmon, from baked, smoked, or even raw salmon, you name it they have it!
For me, the one that tastes best was the half cooked salmon, it tastes SOOOO good. I ate it plain and then I tried eating it using soy sauce, and both still taste soooo good! However, this is not my first time eating Norwegian Salmon, but you know what?! It tastes way different from the one I used to eat in restaurants. This tastes so fresh and there’s no fishy taste at all!
This is crayfish or known as baby lobster in Indonesia, they cooked perfectly with sauce that taste like Indonesia Rawon. So unique and I like it 🙂
CODFISH – cooked with creamy sauce
STERLING SALT-BAKED HALIBUT
I am not sure the name of those foods hahaha but trust me, all tastes so good! And because of the buffet stalls were already messed up when I came, so I just took a couple photos of it.
All the seafood here is great, none of them smell fishy at all. And if you are a seafood lover, I suggest that you try this yearly event, 2.8 million is so worth it if you are a seafood enthusiast! Don’t miss SEAFOOD EXTRAVAGANZA next year in 2019, okay?
